Our unique Edelweiss & Gurgl riding stables in Obergurgl make holidays with us an unforgettable experience for horseriding enthusiasts. The stables and riding centre are located just a short walk from our hotel. There you will find 17 Tyrolean Haflinger horses bred on our own farm.

During the winter months the state-of-the-art indoor riding centre is used for many horse-based activities. In summer, guests can look forward to rides and hacks in the beautiful Ötztal Valley with its glacier-capped peaks.

Explore the Ötztal Valley on the back of a beautiful Haflinger

Haflinger horses are ideal for riders of all ages and abilities thanks to their friendly nature and calm temperament. The horses are easily recognisable with their silky smooth coat and blonde manes. Native to mountainous regions like the Ötztal Valley, they are sure-footed, strong and determined. Our professional instructors will be happy to show beginners the ropes and join advanced riders on hacks into the landscape around the Hotel Edelweiss & Gurgl.

Equine experiences

State-of-the-art riding centre with huge glass front

Our state-of-the-art riding centre near the Hotel Edelweiss & Gurgl has been designed to host international contests. The huge glass front lets light stream in and at the same time offers wonderful views of the surrounding landscape.

The indoor riding area measures 20 metres by 40 metres. That means a total of 800 square metres available for lessons and training. On request we will be happy to set up obstacles such as oxers, bar-fences and cavaletti.

Once a week we invite guests to join us on a tour of the riding centre and stables in Obergurgl. You will be able to meet the animals and find out what goes on behind the scenes. Instructors Lisa and Heidi will be happy to tell you about our Haflinger horses and introduce you to the lessons on offer.
